Fixie ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Fixie mobile app and the website at fixie.help (the "Service"). This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
• Account info (email, password, optional name and profile picture)
• Project customizations (dimensions, materials, finishes you select)
• Photos and notes you attach to a build
• When you ask Fixie to design something: the brief you write, your answers to its questions, and the reference photos you attach — which are usually photos of a room in your home or of furniture you own
• Messages you send to support
• In-app purchase details, such as the product, transaction reference, and subscription status, renewal, or expiration; payment details are handled by the billing provider
Information we collect automatically
• Usage events (screens viewed, projects started, build steps completed)
• Device info (OS, app version, screen size)
• Diagnostics (crash reports and performance traces via Sentry)
• Affiliate click events (when you tap an Amazon link, our affiliate tracking records that the click came from Fixie)
• Install attribution — which channel, campaign, and ad brought you to Fixie, from an App Store campaign link or an AppsFlyer or Tenjin campaign/share link, or that you found it on your own
• Location, if you allow it — your device's location and the place it is in (city, region, country), recorded now and then while you use the app. Turn it off at any time in your device's Settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
• Generate cut lists, materials lists, and step-by-step instructions for your customized build
• Save your project progress so you can pick up where you left off
• Send you build reminders and product updates (you can opt out)
• Design the piece you asked for, which means sending your brief and reference photos to our AI provider
• Improve the app — identify which features help first-time builders, and which don't, and train and evaluate the models Fixie uses, including on briefs and photos people submit
• Show Fixie's work: we may publish a design made for you as a catalog project, and use submitted photos and the designs made from them in marketing
• Earn affiliate commissions on Amazon purchases made through our links (this funds the app)
• Validate purchases, provide subscription entitlements, and handle billing support
• Understand where builders are, if you allow location, so we know which regions, stores, and lumber sizes to support
3. Third-Party Services
We rely on these processors to run the Service. Each handles only what it needs to do its job.
• Supabase — auth and database hosting
• OpenAI — generates BOMs, cut lists, and assistant replies. Project parameters and photos you submit are sent to OpenAI for processing; we do not include personally identifying info beyond what's required.
• Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-X9SMH7GEF8) — aggregated usage analytics on the website.
• Sentry — crash and error reporting.
• Resend — transactional and newsletter email delivery.
• Apple App Store — purchase processing, billing, and subscription management.
• RevenueCat — in-app purchase records and subscription status used to associate purchases with your Fixie account.
• Statsig — product analytics and feature rollout in the app and on the website; also attaches the channel and campaign that brought you to Fixie (from the attribution provider below) to your usage analytics, so we can see which ones lead to people trying and buying Fixie. Updated app versions exclude Meta-provided install attribution from this connection going forward. On the website it can also record sessions (what is clicked and scrolled) to help us fix confusing pages.
• AppsFlyer or Tenjin — install attribution and measurement of campaign and share links. The provider depends on your app version. It receives app and device information, a vendor-specific device identifier, link context, and your Fixie account identifier after sign-in. On iPhone, the device's advertising identifier is used only if you allow tracking when the app asks.
• Purchase measurement — updated app versions can link trial, purchase and subscription events from RevenueCat to Tenjin to measure which advertising leads to paid use. Tenjin may forward supported events and purchase amounts to Meta, TikTok and ChatGPT Ads when the corresponding integration is enabled. We do not send your email address for this matching. On iPhone, advertising identifiers are used only with your tracking permission; Apple also provides delayed, aggregated SKAdNetwork reports without identifying you.
• Google and Apple — sign-in, if you choose to sign in with either.
• Expo — delivery of push notifications, such as build reminders.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only:
• With the processors listed above, strictly to deliver the Service
• When required by law or legal process
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of Fixie or our users
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (we'll notify you)
When you share a design, its public page shows the design's title, summary, dimensions, 3D model, tools, materials, cut list, and build steps. It does not show your name, email address, reference photos, or the brief itself, but the design and its steps were written from your brief, so they can reflect details you put in it. Anyone with the link can see the page, and it may appear elsewhere on fixie.help and in search engines such as Google. Deleting the design or closing your account takes the page down. You can also write to support@fixie.help to have a shared link taken down.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted transit (HTTPS), encrypted storage, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute protection.
6. Data Retention
You can close your account from the in-app profile screen. Closing it disables sign-in and clears your profile name, but it does not automatically erase your account identifier, email address, purchase records, projects, project history, build progress, briefs, reference photos, notes, or generated designs. We do not apply an automatic deletion date to this content when an account is closed. We retain account and purchase records to administer accounts, provide paid features, handle support, reconcile transactions, and protect the Service. We retain submitted content while it is useful to operate and improve Fixie, including to understand how designs were made and to train and evaluate the models Fixie uses.
Usage, diagnostic, location, and safety records are retained while useful to measure, operate, and protect the Service. They may remain after account closure, including in a deidentified form.
If you want saved content deleted, write to support@fixie.help. We will delete eligible content from active systems and explain if any records must remain for legal, accounting, safety, or security reasons. Closing your account does not automatically unpublish a design or remove it from marketing. You may ask us to stop showing a design in the public catalog or in marketing; it may remain available until we process that request, and we cannot recall copies other people have already saved or built.
Closing your Fixie account does not cancel an auto-renewing subscription. Apple or another billing provider continues billing until you cancel with that provider. Purchase and subscription records may be retained to provide paid features, verify entitlements, and reconcile transactions.
7. Your Rights
• Access and update your account info
• Close your account in the app; closing disables sign-in but does not automatically erase saved content
• Request deletion of saved content or account-associated information, or ask us to stop showing a design in the catalog or in marketing, by emailing support@fixie.help
• Object to processing or request data portability
• Withdraw consent for marketing email at any time (unsubscribe link in every newsletter)
8. Affiliate Disclosure
Fixie participates in the Amazon Associates affiliate program. When you tap a "buy materials" link in the app and complete a purchase on Amazon, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps keep catalog projects free for first-time builders. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Family-friendly projects are designed for kids to build with a parent or guardian who is the account holder. If you believe a child has given us personal data without parental consent, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. International Users
Fixie is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your data may be transferred to, processed, and stored in the US. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email.
