Fixie 2.0: Design Your Own Build

Start with the piece you have in mind

Open Fixie and tell it what you want to build in plain words: what it is for, roughly how big, and where it goes. "A pine nightstand. 18 x 14 x 24 inches. One open shelf. Straight legs. No drawer." is plenty.

If you have seen something you like, add up to six photos: the whole piece straight on first, then any details. Then pick the tools you own, so the steps use the saws and drills you already have.

See it take shape before you cut anything

Your design arrives as a 3D model with its dimensions and parts, so you can check that it fits before you buy a single board. Supported projects can also be placed in your room with AR.

Not quite right? Ask for a change, like a taller shelf or a wider top, and see the result.

Everything you need to build it

Every design comes with the same build plan as our catalog projects: a cut list for every board, the materials and tools, and visual assembly steps written for first-time builders. Track your progress as you go, and order what you need from the Buy tab.

If you would rather start from a proven plan, the catalog is still there, and every catalog project is free.

What it costs

Your first custom design is free. Catalog projects are free, and the plans you get from Fixie are yours to keep. If you want more custom designs or changes after that, they are available as in-app purchases.

Made something you are proud of? Share your design with a link. Anyone who opens it can explore the 3D model and the build plan, and make their own version for their space in Fixie.

Build safely

Custom designs are generated with AI and are not checked by a person before you see them. Review measurements, materials, and instructions before you cut, follow the safety guidance for your tools, and report anything that looks wrong from the design itself.
